Manchester United have unveiled their redeveloped Carrington training ground with minority owner Jim Ratcliffe describing it as a “world-class performance environment”.
Ratcliffe and his Ineos Group made updating Carrington one of their priorities when they bought a 27.7 per cent stake in the club in February 2024.
Work has been ongoing for some time but the club released a video this afternoon that details the thought gone into the £50million project in the hope it will improve matters on the field.
Take a Tour of Carrington
Ratcliffe told the club’s official website: “Following a review of the facility last year, we made a quick decision to invest significantly in the creation of a world-class performance environment for staff and players to reflect our ambition and vision for Manchester United.
“We are delighted with the outcome and are confident the new facility will play an important role in building a winning culture at the club.”
Carrington will unify the club – Berrada
United CEO Omar Berrada added: “This project represents a clear step towards unifying every part of the club around a shared footballing vision. By bringing our staff and players closer together in one integrated environment, we are creating a culture of collaboration and high-performance.”
Manager Ruben Amorim and the United players have been using the facility for the first time this week after returning from their pre-season tour of the United States.
It will also house most of the club’s executive leadership team and a number of other staff.
