Manchester United winger Amad Diallo believes the team “are going to achieve a lot” this season but has called for patience from fans while the players continue to adapt to life under head coach Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese manager replaced Erik ten Hag in November 2024 before United went on to endure their worst-ever campaign in the Premier League era.
The Red Devils finished in 15th spot in the table and ended the season empty handed following defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
Amorim has began rebuilding the squad this summer, with the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and reports suggesting Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo’s move will also be confirmed soon.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford looks set to depart the club to Barcelona on loan, with Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho also thought to be edging ever closer to the exit door.

United begin their Premier League campaign with the visit of Arsenal on 17 August and Amad believes success will return to Old Trafford but has called on the fans’ support.
“I think they have to be patient with us,” Amad said. “There’s a new manager, with new players and new tactics.
“We know last season wasn’t really good for the team, but I think this season we will win a lot with him and I hope this season we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season.
“A good season will be top five. I hope we can achieve that top five at the end of the season because I think they deserve.”
Saturday saw the first glimpses of the new-look United as Amorim’s side drew 0-0 with Leeds United in Sweden.
Asked about the impact a player like Cunha can have on the team, Amad said: “He’s a good player. We need good players in the team, and he’ll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things.
“Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best.”
As for Rashford, Amad added: “The only thing I can say is good luck to him, but I’m more focused on United and my team.”
