Chelsea have had to wait over a year to see new signing Estevao Willian in action, but he is already proving to be worth it.
The young Brazilian has opened his scoring account for the Blues on his debut, netting in a pre-season friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.
Estevao was handed a start by Enzo Maresca days after being officially unveiled by the club following his move from Palmeiras.
And he wasted no time getting stuck in.
The 18-year-old showed great instincts to react quickest after Cole Palmer hit the crossbar with his looping effort against Erik ten Hag’s men.
It was a simple finish in the end, tapping home with his left foot, but the young forward was clearly emotional after netting in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful.
He wheeled away in delight, before kissing the badge and showing the love to the fans, who were giving him a fantastic reception.
Estevao’s goal is good news for the Club World Champions as they continue their preparations for the new season.
