Germany, meanwhile, reached the last four after a thrilling last-eight encounter with France, eventually triumphing 6-5 on penalties after being a player down for most of the match.
Both teams have faced England in the final of recent major tournaments. Germany fell to Sarina Wiegman’s side at Wembley three years ago, while Spain overcame the Lionesses in the World Cup final in 2023.
