Former Argentina youth international Maximo Perrone has wished Pep Guardiola “every success” after ending his 30-month spell at Manchester City to sign for two-time Premier League winner Cesc Fabregas at Italian club Como on a four-year deal.
Midfielder Perrone joined City on a five-and-a-half-year contract from Velez Sarsfield for £8 million in January 2023 but played for only 20 minutes and was loaned out twice.
Now 22, Perrone’s first and only Premier League appearance came a month after he signed, replacing Erling Haaland in a 4-1 win at Bournemouth.
Como paid around £11.3m for Perrone, transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano said.

Perrone established himself with Sarsfield in the Argentinian top flight in 2022 and made one appearance for City aside from his 18-minute cameo against the Cherries, featuring for two minutes of a 3-0 FA Cup fifth round win at Bristol City three days later.
He provided two assists and one goal for Argentina at the 2023 Under-20 World Cup but did not come off the bench in their last-16 defeat to Nigeria.
A repeated unused substitute in domestic competition and the Champions League, he spent 2023/24 on loan with Las Palmas in Spain before Como borrowed the Buenos Aires-born player last season.
“He settled in quickly, understood exactly how we want to play and became a key figure in the team,” said Fabregas, who spent a total of 13 years in England with Arsenal and Chelsea, winning the 2014/15 and 2016/17 titles with the Blues.
Como finished 10th in former Spain midfielder Fabregas’s first season in charge in 2024/25, recovering from a run of two wins and seven defeats in their first 15 league games and putting together six consecutive victories in April and May.
