The Seattle Mariners are closing in on signing Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez in a trade for Tyler Locklear, Juan Burgos and Hunter Cranton, according to a report.
First baseman Locklear and right-handers Burgos and Cranton will follow Josh Naylor to the Mariners pending a medical review, ESPN has said.
The move would unite Suarez and first baseman Naylor with Cal Raleigh, who is the favorite to be named American League (AL) MVP, and center fielder Julio Rodríguez and outfielder Randy Arozarena.
